At the time of the 1891 Census he was three years old, living on Cropwell Road, Radcliffe on Trent with his parents William 51 and Harriet 42 and siblings John 14, Sabina 12, Walter 9, George 7 and Percy 5.
1901 Census
By 1901 Albert had become a butcher’s boy, aged 13, living at the Harlequin, Radcliffe on Trent with his parents William, a railway signalman, and Harriet and siblings Sabina 22, a shopkeeper, Walter 19, a railway porter, George 17, a railway clerk, Percy 15, errand boy, Bertie 9, Dorothy 7, Annie 3 and Arthur 2.
1911 Census
By 1911 he had become a plumber’s labourer aged 23, living at the Harlequin with parents William 61, a railway signalman and Harriet 56 and siblings Sabina 32, George 27, Dorothy Mary 17, Emma Ada 15, Florence Annie 13 and Arthur Edward 11. George’s occupation was given as law clerk and all three younger sisters as dressmaker’s apprentices.
