Age 9, living on Main Street, Shelford with father Alfred 44, a shoemaker, mother Mary 49, brothers Richard 13, a farmer’s boy, and George 7, an aunt Hannah 65 and a lodger Charles Reves.

Age 19 living in Shelford with parents Alfred, shoemaker and bootmaker, mother Mary, his brother George 16, an agricultural labourer, two ‘nurse children’ (sic), Dorothy Cash 6 and Charles Hobbs 10 months and a lodger Alfred Elles. He is employed as a bricklayer’s labourer.
